Listen to lecture in Chinese from an super Internet Icon - Jack MaJack Ma is a well known Chinese Internet Icon. He is also one good example of a self-made billionaire in today’s China.

I’ll just use his bio from Forbes web site to give you a brief introduction of his success:

Net worth: 2.7 billion

  • Age: 47
  • Source of Wealth: internet, self-made
  • Residence: Hangzhou, China
  • Country of Citizenship: China
  • Education: Bachelor of Arts / Science, Hangzhou Teacher”s Institute
  • Marital Status: Married

China’s e-commerce pioneer Jack Ma’s Alibaba Group, China’s top e-commerce company, owns two of the world’s most popular sites, Taobao and Alibaba.com. The past year has been tumultuous and hasn’t resolved Ma’s wish to find buyers of Yahoo’s current 40% stake in Alibaba Group. In February, he moved to privatize Hong Kong-listed e-commerce unit, Alibaba.com, in a $2.5 billion transaction. Ma is a former English teacher from Hangzhou, where Alibaba is headquartered.

In my opinion, the most intriguing question that most people wanna to know about him is how could a mediocre person like Jack Ma harvest such huge success in a competitive business environment in China? He started with no money, no connections, zero technical knowledge about Internet, he’s not even good-looking. Then what advantages he had that other people don’t?

Let’s hear what he’s going to reveal about his secret to survive in the business: no money, no technology, no plan. Sounds weird, but you’ll find out the truth about it soon. Enjoy …
