Artistic Chinese calligraphy - see how a Chinese character could be written this wayHave you ever seen how a Chinese character could be written in this way (the picture to the right)? It looks like a picture out of a Chinese character. It’s actually a kind of traditional Chinese folk art called 花文字 huā wén zì (Artistic Chinese Calligraphy).

The actual Chinese character in the picture is 祥 xiáng. Can you tell? It symbolizes 吉祥如意 jí xiáng rú yì (May all your wishes come true.) Wonder how long it takes to make the shape of things into a character? Go ahead watch the video, you’ll find out how fast it can be done. :-)

      实际上我也是最近才发现有这种民间艺术,觉得很有趣就放到这了.有的字确实不容易看出来,就是好看呗 :-)

      我实际上也琢磨倒底是”祥”还是”福”,原帖的注解上是”祥”,可我看着也挺象”福”的.
